Louis van Gaal: No questions over Rooney red card

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal reacts to his team's 2-1 win over West Ham, and indicates Wayne Rooney's tackle was intentional.
Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal had no qualms with referee Lee Mason for sending Wayne Rooney off as his side beat West Ham 2-1 at a nervy Old Trafford.
Van Gaal recorded his second win as United boss thanks to goals from Rooney and Robin van Persie.
But, the day before the 10th anniversary of his United debut, Rooney blotted his copybook with a reckless lunge on Stewart Downing deep inside the hosts' half.
``[It was] the right card for Wayne,'' Van Gaal said. "I could imagine why he did it.
"But I think you have to do it more friendly and that is the only thing that I can say.
"I call that a professional foul. Maybe you don't want to hear it, but in professional football you make professional fouls."
Rooney will now miss United's fixtures against Everton, West Brom and Chelsea.
"It will be a great miss, as he played very well and I was very pleased with him -- he scored the goal,'' said Van Gaal, who last week said Rooney was the only player in his XI to be an automatic selection.
