Bob Geldof admits this year has been 'c**p' since his daughter Peaches died.
The 63-year-old lost his child in April, when 25-year-old Peaches was found dead in her home.
She
left behind husband Thomas Cohen and their sons Astala, two, and
Phaedra, 20 months. Bob is looking forward to spending time with his
grandchildren, although he misses his daughter.
'It's been a crap
year. There is no end to it. It is for the rest of my life. I'll be with
the family for Christmas,' he told UK newspaper The Sunday Mirror.
'[My
grandkids] will make Christmas come alive again. It will be like
everybody else's Christmas but a lot less [with Peaches gone].'
Bob admitted he 'goes over and over and over' what he could have done to save his daughter's life, which leaves him restless.
The
iconic musician recruited a host of A-list singers with the help of
Midge Ure to record the charity track Do They Know It's Christmas? this
year, with funds going towards fighting the Ebola crisis.
The philanthropic tune was released in November and he's elated with what it represents.
'The people who benefit from Band Aid will never know who you are and they will never care,' he explained.
'But
what's great about it is seeing that human tragedy, a person somewhere
in the world suffering, and saying, 'No, let me help'. That is
wonderful. That is what humans at their best do. Not to do, not to
recognise the pain or the indignity means that something is dead inside
you. Or you reject it through cynicism you are denying that person their
dignity.'
