Melanie 'Mel B' Brown and her husband have reportedly reached 'breaking point'.
The former Spice Girls singer is said to be on the rocks with spouse of seven years, Stephen Belafonte.
And apparently loved ones aren't sure whether their union will last.
'The
marriage really is at breaking point and hanging by a thread. Mel is
incredibly fragile and in a bad place,' a source told British newspaper
The Mirror.
'Who knows whether the marriage will survive? At the moment it's not looking good at all.
'But Mel and Stephen are so unpredictable they could just as easily survive this.'
Melanie,
39, was admitted to a medical facility for an unknown ailment last
Thursday and it's claimed she is now recuperating from the mystery
illness in a secret location.
While appearing as a judge on the
UK's X Factor over the weekend, several marks were noticeable on Mel's
body, which sent her fans into a stir.
When people starting
tweeting about the possibility of Stephen hitting his wife, the film
producer spoke out against these rumours.
'I don't usually respond
to Twitter messages but I will respond to comments of hitting my wife
which I think are quite disgusting. Untrue,' he tweeted. 'Mel was very
ill and a bunch of doctors helped her get better.
'If fans can't just relax before being negative they are not real fans.'
Melanie and Stephen tied the knot in 2007. They share three-year-old daughter Madison together.
